trying to steal supplies from other people was always the hardest thing. if you stepped on a leaf and someone heard you, you could lose your own supplies and your life. and there was no way in hell that joonmyun wanted to do that. he was in this to win it, and he was going to make sure of that. making sure that his pistol was loaded, he regretted grabbing that instead of his shot gun. he would have to get close up to a person to kill them with this, but it wouldn't be too bad. he could make a silent (or loud) kill and then go from there. his machete was strapped to his back, he didn't intend to use it unless the situation was absolutely dire. he had learned that killed someone with a machete was long, tedious, and created a lot of blood splatter, and he didn't want that at all.

as joonmyun left the building, he did his usual check. first, he checked every pom on the first floor, making sure that no one was in there. then, he checked his "traps". they were poorly made, with string, but they would scare the person enough that they would either run away, or lose interest. there were the brave people who had decided to set foot into the building, but joonmyun had dealt with them quickly. one bullet to the head when they ventured too far into the building for joonmyun's own safety. usually from the back so that they couldn't see it coming. he pitted them whenever that happened, they knew that a person was in the building, yet they continued on anyway. but maybe, it wasn't all too bad, that was how he met the stranger who saved his life.

the sun was hot against joonmyun's pale skin as he trekked through the abandoned university campus. he usually didn't stray too far from the liberal arts building, but today was different. today he would need to travel across campus into the math and science building—or at least that was what his map said. according to the map, there was a farm next to it, and he had heard that there were chickens, and some vegetable crops there. if he was lucky, these things would still be there and he could get something fresh for he and his stranger friend, and maybe that would be better than the canned food he had gotten from the cafeteria.

it was dangerous and stupid to be traveling across campus in broad daylight. anyone could be anywhere, and there were so many chances for them to see joonmyun before he saw them. an archer on top of one of the buildings could pick him off, and he'd be dead within the hour. so he kept his head low and hoped to god—or whoever was out there—that he would be lucky enough to make it across campus both times. every now and then, he could hear gun fire, and that only made him move faster. the sooner he got there, the better it would be.

stopping off to observe his map, joonmyun wanted to make sure the he was going in the right direction. he was crouched under the stairs o the see of a building, hiding to the best of his ability. he was lucky though, because he was headed in the right direction. and from the looks of it, e only needed to go a few more meters and then he'd be there. he was thankful that even though the campus was large, the distance between the two buildings was small.

it was when he left his hiding place that his luck had run out. he was face to face with someone from district five and that was a problem.

"give me your map and weapons, and no one will get hurt." it was probably a lie, but joonmyun didn't trust him. reaching for his gun, a 9mm grand power k100, he pull fit out quickly, aiming it at the tribute. when he pulled the trigger, nothing happened. the gun was jammed.

"are you fucking kidding me?" joonmyun did what he figured was the next best option. he ran. he ran away from the tribute as fast as he could.

he didn't run for long, because he felt a bullet pierce his shoulder. letting out a cry of pain, joonmyun swallowed deeply, as he reached to touch his shoulder, feeling the blood seep through his already dirty uniform shirt. the tribute chasing after him stopped running though, his gun only making a clicking sound. then it hit joonmyun, he only had one bullet. one bullet and he only shot joonmyun in the shoulder.

"are you fucking kidding me?" joonmyun repeated as he turned around. grabbing his machete off of his back, he approached the confused and terrified looking tribute. "are you fucking kidding me?" he asked once more as he pushed the person on the ground.

they were frozen with fear, and right now, joonmyun didn't give two fucks. not about killing them, and not about killing them with his machete. bringing it down, he cut the male's arm first, letting out a frustrated grown. "you had me running, and you shot me, with your one bullet and you couldn't even kill me?"

the anger sounded out in joonmyun's voice as he brought his machete down again and again. each time it hit a different place, and each time, blood splattered along his body. staining his uniform shirt even further. maybe, he was taking out his frustration—years of pent up aggression—on this poor tribute, but he didn't care. instead, joonmyun kept hacking away. bringing the machete down each time until his arm was tired.

when he finished, joonmyun stared at the body, it was an unrecognizable bloody mess by now, but he didn't care. he felt at peace, and that was what mattered. he didn't bother trying to dispose of the body. he knew that there was a tribute or two from district 6 that ate people. he figured they would enjoy the free meal.
