Lu Han clears her throat a grand total of five times before Minseok stops straightening the contents of her locker and finally looks at her. The classroom is full but their friends are all crowded around Kris, soaking up the stories she's brought back from Canada. Honestly, Lu Han doesn't want to do this but it's better to get it out of the way here. Doing it in front of the team would be embarrassing.

"You're failing Mandarin," she says, glancing away quickly when Minseok meets her gaze.

Minseok closes her locker, books now lined up neatly by size. "It's the oral component, it's dragging down my grade. You know that."

Lu Han pulls herself to full height and Minseok has to tilt her head back slightly to look Lu Han in the eye again, but it doesn't have the desired effect of intimidating her. Lu Han's not sure that Minseok is intimidated by anything but the existence of tones in language. "The point is, semi-finals are happening after this exam period. If you don't pass, you can't play. And you know we can't afford to lose our vice-captain at this point."

"I'll study hard?" Minseok hazards. After a moment, she shrugs. "I'll study with Kris. I'm not going to get kicked off the team. You know I wouldn't do that to you guys."

No. That isn't what Lu Han wants either. Kris probably would be a better tutor for Minseok, she would be patient and she wouldn't laugh at Minseok's mistakes because she knows four languages and so knows that learning new things is hard. Kris is an all-round better choice when it comes to language tutoring. Lu Han knows for a fact that Kris has conned several underclassmen out of their allowances in exchange for tutoring them.

"Actually, I was thinking I could tutor you," Lu Han replies, finally revealing her true intentions. "I mean, we could study after practice. It would be convenient. And we travel home in the same direction, so you could come over and stuff."

She probably comes off less nonchalant than she means to but Minseok seems to be considering it, so she counts it as a tentative victory. She opens her mouth to say more, to attempt persuasion, but the bell rings and suddenly their younger friends stampede past in an attempt to get back to their classes on time. Chanyeol manages to knock into Minseok on the way, sending her stumbling against Lu Han. Lu Han makes a mental note to buy Chanyeol a drink from her favourite cafe just for that because Minseok is warm and compact against her for all of three seconds and it feels just as magical as she imagined.

Minseok steps back and smooths her uniform skirt. "There's no practice today, so I guess we could make a headstart." She smiles. "I'll finally get to see your independent way of life."

Lu Han laughs and watches Minseok make her way to her desk at the front of the room before remembering that her apartment is desperately in need of cleaning. She swears so sharply that Kris shoots her an amused glance. Maybe, if she's really lucky, Minseok won't notice.
