pm what you said is why i'm not posting anything there. i don't want it to be taken as me being on the side of the kfans who consider him a traitor, and yet i can't post OMG I'M SO HAPPY FOR HIM <3333 because it'd be insincere. i'm not happy! i think it was a dumb move! there's obviously too many factors at play here (did they use contraceptives and those failed? did they not use any at all? was it a drunk mistake?) so me calling it a move might be too much and completely wrong, but almost all other idols haven't had an issue with this!
i was so happy to see him have the start of a solo career in 2019 because i think oppars are at the stage where they need to establish themselves outside of the group (as much as i adore the group and as much as i want it to come first), even when his music ended up being ballads that i find are the worst way to go if you want to GROW your fanbase, and now... this. sm didn't try very hard with sungmin and looking at his mini album sales hurts even me who has never been his fan. yes jongdae is sufficiently bigger than him, but is he big enough to withstand this? probably not.
ugh, i just want to be wrong and for it all to go well T_T i can't possibly imagine him going on those baby variety shows (but if his fiancee is the same girl as 3 years ago, i bet she will want to go) but at least they'd be SOME way for him to have a new audience
idk truly i'm filled to the brim with conflicting thoughts. he clearly loves singing and i love hearing him sing and now it just feels like there will be less and less opportunities to do that.
