here!

Sehun's breaths come fast and hard as he runs, eyes stinging from the hot tears on his cheeks.

"Zitao!" he screams. "Jongin!" He keeps hoping they're nearby, that they didn't really get separated. But they'd been ambushed. One second, Sehun'd dozed off on his watch, and the next, he'd woken to the sounds of Jongin's shouts and an overpowering sound of machinery. He'd started running.

It wasn't long before the jeering taunts had followed him.

"Zitao~! Jongin~~! Save me~~!!" Joonmyun mocks loudly behind him as he chases after Sehun, titanium baseball bat gleaming in his hand, gold trimming the entire handle. Sehun spots a tree with a somewhat low branch and tries to jump and snag it. He can't keep running. His hands catch purchase on the wood with a sharp sting and he tries to swing himself up uselessly. He narrowly avoids the sharp swing of Joonmyun's bat as it connects hard with the tree trunk.

Joonmyun's laughter is loud and haunting, and Sehun scrambles to pull himself further up the tree, knees scraping against the bark.

"Fuck off!" he sobs at the other, spitting down at him. "Why are you doing this, Joonmyun?!"

"Because there has to be a winner, sweet little Sehun," Joonmyun chuckles darkly, hand resting casually on his hip as he peers up at Sehun. He looks well fed, fully hydrated, and impeccably clean, especially compared to Sehun who's gaunt, scraped, and dirty, the colors in his hair beyond dull.

Sehun shakes his head and tries to pull himself up farther, Joonmyun merely laughing beneath him.

"Be careful, Sehunnie," he taunts, watching in amusement.

"Fuck off!" Sehun repeats, screaming at the other. "Zitao! Jongin!" He's never felt so helpless. Joonmyun watches for a few more moments before swinging his bat hard at the tree. The small branches sway a little, and knock Sehun off balance. He struggles to catch himself, but it's too late, and he's slipping, crashing into the branches on the way down. Sehun's head hits the ground hard and he cries out, landing on his leg the right way.

Joonmyun snickers, dragging his bat along the ground. "Didn't I say to be careful, Sehunnie?" he purrs out, crouching down to cup the pale boy's cheek. Sehun sobs harder, yanking away.

"Leave me alone," he sobs, trying to get to his feet with a pained whimper.

Joonmyun waits until he's got a clear shot before bringing his bat down hard on Sehun's spine. The boy screams, the mockingjays in the trees all squacking to life as they fluttered away. Hitting the ground, Joonmyun laughs and presses the toe of his shiny boot to the back of that dirty rainbow head and shoves, forcing Sehun's face into the ground.

"You should listen to your elders. You know, you could've had an easy run in this game with me. Food every day, water, sat back and relaxed. I might've even left you until we were the only two left. Then I'd have killed you fast so you wouldn't feel any pain of course." Joonmyun's tone is casual and nonchalant and the taste of dirt in Sehun's mouth makes it even harder to breathe as he chokes against the ground. "But you just had to team up with those nobodies. Oh well. I could've made you live like a Prince in your final days."

Sehun screams as Joonmyun steps on his cracked spine, another loud laugh filling the air. "Where're your boyfriends now, Hunnie?"

As if on cue, Joonmyun jumped back, the swish of a sword cutting through the air. Sehun cries out in relief at the lack of pressure on his back, though soon he's wincing as Jongin bursts from the bushes, trying to help him up.

"Shh, shh," the blonde's whispering helplessly, trying to get Sehun to stand. The pale boy can't stop sobbing.

"Where the f-fuck were you? He came out of nowhere," Sehun chokes on his words, face covered in saliva, tears, and dirt. Jongin tries to wipe him clean with his sleeve, but it's a hopeless cause, the guilt in his eyes.

"I'm sorry, okay?" Jongin mumbles weakly, and soon Zitao's stumbling back to them with a bloody lip and dark eyes.

"We have to go, now," he hisses, urging both of them to run. Sehun hooks his arms over both of them, crying out sharply in pain when they try to stumble away. He tries to glance back and see where Joonmyun's gone, but the sight is too much.

"Get down!" he screams, suddenly shoving Jongin and Zitao to the ground. Joonmyun smiles wickedly, a single slice on his cheek bleeding steadily, staining his crisp white uniform.

The arrow lodges perfectly in Sehun's back before he even hits the ground.
