"Stop it," he yelps, batting Kris's hands away. "I didn't come all the way here to get tickled!"
"Oh, then what did you come here for?" Kris asks suggestively earning another yelp as he slips his freezing hand down the back of Jongdae's parka.
"A meteor shower," he breaths back.
But there are no meteors yet. The cold however is very much present and absolutely atrocious. Kris makes a point to wrap his arms around Jongdae so they can at least shiver together.
"You know, if you had told me beforehand that we weren't going to the movies and were instead going to stand out in the freezing darkness waiting for a few dumb stars, I could have at least gotten us coffee," Kris complains.
"It'll be worth it. I promise," Jongdae replies, breath gleaming in the cold.
Kris leans forward to kiss him, and in that instant Jongdae breaks away to start screaming.
"Did you see that! It's starting, it's starting! Hurry and make a wish!"
Kris is ready to pull him back into his arms when another flash of silver erupts from the corner of his eye.
Then another and another, until the sky shimmers with life.
They're both mesmerized by it, in the moment and blessed. This time when Kris links their hands together, Jongdae doesn't run off. Instead he pulls Kris even tighter and kisses him, chapped lips and all.
All the while the stars above them burst into the fading night.
