"So."

Minseok stood in the entrance hallway, his bag dropped by the wall. His arms were crossed over his chest, and he was not impressed. Not impressed at all. Not by the box of cat litter in the corner, not by the cat toys scattered across the floor, and most certainly not by the cat currently clawing at the strap of his bag. And definitely, absolutely far beyond not impressed at the kitten currently sitting on his foot.

From behind the kitchen counter, Minseok's roommate emerges with another!? cat draped around his shoulders. Baekhyun gives Minseok a cheeky grin as he deposits that...furry...thing onto the counter, his hands occupied with a can opener and...cat...food...

Minseok narrows his eyes.

"Jongdae and Chanyeol are out for the weekend, so I offered to take care of them until they're back," Baekhyun offers. "Aren't they cute?"

"I live here too," Minseok comments mildly. He gives his foot a little shake, but the kitten is determined. Is he allergic to cats? Maybe he's allergic to cats. His nose feels a little itchy.

"That's Sehun, that's Tao, and this is Kai." Baekhyun seems to have conveniently glossed over the fact that Minseok said anything at all, pointing in turn at the tan kitten currently using his leg as a scratching post, the black cat curled up between his bag and the wall, and the grey sprawled half on the counter, and half in the sink.

If Minseok hadn't known Baekhyun for years (worse, had lived with him for years) he would have ordered them out of his (their) apartment right this moment. But Baekhyun had that horrible, obstinate twinkle in his eye that meant sure Minseok could strongarm his way into getting what he wanted, but Baekhyun wasn't giving in without a fight. And after a day of sitting at tables and strongarming stuffy people in suits into doing what he wanted (or doing what he was supposed to get them to do, Minseok couldn't give half a damn about whether or not the new Risk Analytics department had an increased budget for software or not), dealing with a prissy princess of a roommate was not high on his list.

"Do what you want," he grumbles. Minseok rolls his eyes and reaches for his bag - and is promptly greeted with an arms length of claw marks.

"Fucking--" he bites, yanking his arm back. The damned cat seemed to be smirking at him in all his evil black cat glory. He shoots Baekhyun a withering glance, successfully retrieves his bag, then turns right around, muttering about damned cats under his breath as he jams his feet into his shies.

Baekhyun asks him if he needs a bandaid. Minseok tells him to fuck off.

"If there's a trace of cat here when I'm back..." He leaves the threat hanging in midair. And punctuates it with the slamming door. Childish, but if he couldn't do what he wanted at home, where could he?

"So....you're here because of a cat."

Minseok had met Yixing back in university, and one of his first impressions of the Chinese man had been his non judgamentality. He'd learned through the years that it wasn't that Yixing didn't judge people, he just didn't judge people unless they were friends. Which, several years down the road, Minseok was usually happy but currently chagrined to say they were. As a matter of fact, Minseok was pretty sure that he was being judged so hard over the cutting board if was a miracle lasers hadn't incinerated Minseok's face yet.

Minseok pouted. "Three cats," he corrected. It sounded silly either way.
Not that he would ever admit it.
