Lesson 2: B is for Balls

You need to have great courage. Balls of steel.

Minseok was the cool hyung in their squad. Hardly anything fazed him, and the other three had always looked up to him because of their hyung’s seemingly undeterred focus.

That was until their New Year mission.

Their boss had given them the mission to assassinate a well-known member of another crime ring during the New Year’s celebration using the cacophony of lights and noise as their cover. A scream wouldn’t be out of place during all the drunken celebrations, so in theory, it would have been easy to complete the mission.

That was theory though, and if their boss had learned anything from working with Team A, he should have known that things don’t always go as planned on paper. What surprised him though, was who caused the mission to fail. He had been expecting it to be either Jongdae or Chanyeol (their track records weren’t exactly the best), but, he should have expected the unexpected.

The team had arrived at the party where their victim was supposed to be partying that night. Sure enough, they managed to locate him, tall, blonde, ostentatious, and extremely drunk.

Jongdae, ever the strategist, whispered, “Chanyeol and I will do distraction, Yixing can bait, and Minseok can go in for the kill. We good?”

Everyone nodded, setting the plan into action.

Yixing had lured him to the private rooms while Jongdae and Chanyeol tried to distract the rest of the party by being obnoxious party-goers (last Yixing heard, as he led the victim to the room where Minseok was waiting, was that they were doing flaming body shots off each other).

Yixing opened the door to the penthouse suite, and the victim collapsed inside, a giggling mess on the floor. Minseok looked at him in distaste.

“Well, this is going to be simple.”

Yixing handed over the victim to Minseok, and gave him a slight nod.

“I’ll be waiting outside. Call me if you need anything, or if you need help disposing the body after you’re done,” said Yixing.

Yixing exited, leaving Minseok alone with the victim, who was now regaining a bit of consciousness and sanity. Minseok backed him into the corner of the room and took out his gun.

The victim’s eyes opened wide and he opened his mouth to scream when suddenly—

BOOM

The fireworks all blew off, signaling the start of the new year, and Minseok was startled, his sudden fear of loud noises getting to him. He closed his eyes as the explosions got louder, and shot blindly at the victim (he couldn’t miss a drunk victim in a corner, right?). He felt a tug on his feet and opened his eyes, the victim was holding him and vomiting on him and—

Ew, no, fuck, vomit, fuck, fuck, shit – was all Minseok could think. With the loud bangs from outside and the vomit all over his clothes, his mind was a mess. He couldn’t focus anymore and all he could think about were the germs crawling all over his skin from the wet bile his victim was throwing up on him.

So he did the only thing he could do.

“Yixing,” cried Minseok, in a strangely hysterical high pitched voice, “help!”
