"There's something else," Zitao says, tugging off his beanie. Sticking up from his hat hair are two ears- well, two more ears. Cat ears to be specific. So Chanyeol's potential roommate has cat ears, whatever. Zitao still has two months of rent ready and unlike the last guy that Chanyeol interviewed, has no foul body odor or visible signs of slovenliness. It's not a dealbreaker. Zitao looks relieved when Chanyeol tells him, ears going straight as he thanks Chanyeol repeatedly. Chanyeol drums his fingers against his leg and wonders if Zitao's ears are as soft as they look.




For the most part, Zitao is a good roommate. He pays rent on time, keeps a tidy room, always smokes on the balcony. Chanyeol sometimes cooks for the both of them, enough to feed an entire Park family reunion because Zitao eats like a fucking pig. On those nights they end up on the couch- Zitao sprawled out with his head in Chanyeol's lap, clutching his full belly. His ears flick against Chanyeol's stomach, faint pressure through his t-shirt.

There's also the part where Chanyeol has to make himself scarce for a day every couple of weeks. The first time, Zitao's weird leading up to it, but not enough for Chanyeol to notice. He's come to expect Zitao's affectionate nuzzling against his shoulder, the way he fidgets endlessly. It's when Zitao sits up abruptly during an episode of Running Man, pointing at his bed before disappearing behind a slammed door that, Chanyeol gets it.

Zitao doesn't really talk much about his time of the month, but Chanyeol prods him, giving him grief. "Have fun with your right hand?" he always asks, leering in Zitao's doorway.

Inevitably Zitao goes red, brushing off Chanyeol's teasing with an exaggerated, "Stoooop." He'll walk around their apartment in only his boxers, but he can't talk about masturbation without having to hide his face in his hands. It's cute.
