taeyong's scamming left receipts. a random guy claiming he was attacked by an idol would not be believed. there have always been questionable rumors circulated regarding trainee experiences and no one can be certain what is true or not without full confirmation. so of course lay had more agency over how his incident was released, that doesn't make it any worse or better
