da jsyk, sm still has to approve of all of lay's schedules so they definitely know what's going on with him even if the korean side doesn't directly manage him anymore. sm is still his main managing company; it's their literal job to know his, and every artist under them schedules. and not that i want to agree with that other anon because they seem kinda rude but i highly doubt he's the reason for the delay. he hasn't had much to do outside of small endorsement schedules. sm literally could have fit a comback in after the last exo concert and there would have been very little conflict. his own album was even pushed back from it's original summer release plans. it doesn't even make sense for his album to have been delayed only to not participate in an exo comeback. so this goes beyond lay and seems more like mismanagement and maybe bts drama that marz hinted about
