a complex sentence is a sentence with multiple clauses! one independent clause and at least one dependent clause, though generally they can use more dependents. basically, all of your sentences that have a lot of commas in them are complex sentences. :) because you have several clauses. complex sentences are great, but if your entire writing is built up of complex sentences, then it gets to be a bit jumbled and too fast paced. my suggestion is to alternate and make sure you have a healthy balance of simple sentences and complex sentences alike!

minseok knows that he'll just end up floating maybe three feet off the floor at best.

he says this, and lu han thinks very hard before replying, "i'll do five feet, this time." his face is scrunched with conviction.

minseok supposes he should be flattered, that their relationship is worth an extra two feet off the ground for lu han. lu han is beaming at him like he expects him to be, and with a sigh, minseok gives him a smile back and a thumbs up.

meanwhile, up in the air: even though yixing has learned his lesson about giant squids, kris hasn't. he really should have gotten that extra hour of sleep he thinks, because the nine hours before yixing had rudely awaken him really weren't enough.

yixing shouts as the broom starts veering downward, kris asleep at the wheel, but it's not enough.

they crash into minseok and lu han. kris lands headfirst on top of lu han and they both die, but yixing manages to land on top of them and their rather mushy corpses cushion his landing.

yixing, understandably, cries, while minseok is just glad he doesn't have to die by crashing now or later. (well, okay, maybe he wouldn't have minded it that much, he thinks, staring sadly at what used to be lu han.)

elsewhere in hogwarts, the stray broomstick lands in front of sehun. he trips on it and breaks his face and dies.
