Even though Mama's favorite had always been Jongin, Lu Han's face fit just right in the cradle of her hands. She used to tell him as a child how beautiful his face was, that he was a replica of her younger days. She had her face hidden beneath the black veil but Lu Han nods, enthusiastic, the others' jealousies burning sockets through the dresses Mama always laid out for him.
The first time Lu Han had a glimpse of her face, that was when it started crumbling apart. Mama's face reflected death, the sockets of her eyes empty and her cheeks hollow. Her skin was rotting, fresh wounds and pus forming at every spaces. He had always thought he was beautiful -- like his mother, the epitome of all beauty and grace hidden beneath the mysterious cloth, but the sight of her made him think otherwise.
But he decided, with all faith in the woman he called mother, to become like her to repay her endless love for him. Jongin's the first one who steps in on him, screaming profanities as he cuts through his skin, blood dripping everywhere. He smiles when Jongin's tears filled his eyes; Mama used to say tears represented sincere feelings.
"She said I'd look beautiful like her," Lu Han says, patting Jongin's hair with a hazy stare. He lifts the knife he's been using to Jongin's cheek. "You should be like us to stay as her favorite."
Mama said to cooperate, to help one another in every chore. So when Kyungsoo got assigned by Yifan to lead the food offerings for Mama, he doesn't hesitate. Chanyeol and Baekhyun offer to provide the ingredients, Jongdae stays behind to bake pastries out of nothing.
The only problem in this world was that you can't have everything at reach. Baekhyun scuffles his way in the woods, eyeing every animal moving at high speed and Chanyeol frowns when he misses his aim in one of the squirrels running around.
"This isn't working out," Chanyeol says, frowning. "Mama won't be pleased."
Baekhyun suddenly grabs him, urging him to hide beneath a huge trunk. "Sh," he says, eyes squinting a few meters away from them. "Someone's coming."
Chanyeol's eyes widen. Baekhyun smiles at him, beckoning him to prepare his bow and arrow. "You're not thinking about--" he gets cut off by a glare and Chanyeol quickly shuts his mouth.
When they come home with chopped meat, Kyungsoo eyes them warily before preparing stew for their main course.
Just something I whipped up a while ago. I have other snippets, but I can't quite figure out how to put them together, or even what the main conflict is T.T

It starts with a murder. When they find the body it is gruesome. Some of them have clocked over 10 years in the business and this is the worst that they’ve ever seen. The woman is cut open and splayed out, body parts removed and sewn back on all the wrong places. Even before setting eyes on her, Jongin can smell it, that unmistakable metallic tang of so much blood. When he does see the body, he gags. And he knows.
After work he makes a call to Kyungsoo. When Kyungsoo picks up his voice is tight, and Jongin has to berate himself, because of course Kyungsoo has already heard. He decides not to beat around the bush.
“So you think this is what I think it is?”
Kyungsoo sighs, and Jongin can imagine him chewing at his lip worriedly. “This is not good, Jongin. We expected this of course, but this violent display…They’re more unhappy than we thought.”
Jongin stares out the phone booth, at the cars that race by on the streets, throwing up waves of water onto sidewalks that glimmer orange under the streetlights. Seoul is bustling as usual, and so, so oblivious.
lol late but tbh i think the plot holes in 48hrs were fine even tho they were quite dumb, but the liquor thing... i srsly felt like the author never drank alcohol in her life
I'm one of those people who prefer EXO-M over EXO-K, mainly because I see more sincerity and more grace in M's stage presence. They get the same songs, the same choreography, and yet beyond the robotic choreography, there's a sense of fluidity in EXO-M that I don't see in EXO-K yet.
