Kai was always Mama's favorite. He's the only one that is ever allowed to see her.

Tao doesn't remember what Mama looks like. But there's something in Kris's tone that tells him that he's lucky he doesn't. A visit from Mama never bodes well for any of them, Kris says after some hesitation.

Tao doesn't understand that. Mama protects them. She watches their every move and makes sure that they're okay.

Tao gets bullied sometimes at school, but it never goes to far. One day the bullies push him into locker and he cries himself to sleep because neither Kris nor Yixing-ge are there for him. When he wakes up the bullies are gone and the light from outside the room filters into the locker. He pushes the door open and gasps.

There are bodies everywhere. The bullies are in pieces, tattered shirts stained with blood and once flailing limbs.

He smiles, wading through the slowly congealing sea of red below him.

Mama is always here for him.

When Sehun is seven, he finds a kitten on the street. The poor thing is a scrap of fur and some bones. It mewls weakly when he brings it some milk and purrs under his persistent petting. Soon the two are good friends, because other than Suho and visits from Kai, Sehun is always very lonely.

The cat becomes healthier as he feeds it, and Sehun wants nothing more than to hold her. She’s still antsy about being around him, but can tell that Sehun only means well. He baits her with scraps day by day and soon she’s in his lap purring.

Her fur is so soft and Sehun spends many nights cuddled up against her.

One day, the cat disappears and when Sehun finds her again she’s hurt. Her leg is twisted unnaturally and the way she hisses at him hurts his heart. He wants to hold her and tell her that everything will be okay, but she lashes out at him with her claws in pain.

Sehun is stunned.

The blood from his hand pools down into the ground creating swirls of shadows beneath him. Kai is suddenly beside him holding him back and covering his eyes.

The wind howls behind him as he screams out: “Mama please, she didn’t mean to!”

Kai holds him through the screeching and slashing of shadows. When he opens his eyes again, she’s splattered against the tree trunk, bloodied and completely unnatural now.

Sehun runs forward and peels what’s left of her off and into his arms.

She’s still oh so very soft.

Kai goes to visit Sehun a week after his cat’s passing, but finds Suho by the river instead.

He’s drowning stray cats by the dozen. Completely mechanical in the way that he bobs their heads up and down until they go limp.

He lets them drift down the stream watching them slowly, a thoughtful smile on his lips.

“There’s no point in wasting Mama’s time,” he says simply before Kai even gets the chance to ask.

Kai smiles back because he knows that Mama will appreciate the thought.

The sooner Sehun realizes that they’ll never be alone because they have Mama the better.

Suho himself had to learn the hard way. Kai remembers their string of nannies through the years and the one that Suho loved the most.

She was thoughtful, kind, and had the shiniest hair that Kai had ever seen. Every night, she read books to Suho and tucked Baekhyun into bed. Even Kyungsoo who had been shy at first came to like her.

Kai had almost thought that she would last the longest out of all the nannies, but her death sentence came when she tried to bathe Chanyeol and made him cry when he slipped and bumped his head against the floor.

Mama had dismembered her for that.

She was still beautiful with all her limbs cut off, and gasping for breath. Mama intended for her to bleed out, writhing on the floor in pain.

Kai remembers instead how Suho grabbed her by her once glossy hair and dragged her down to the creek to drown.

Suho has loved the water, ever since.

ughhhh. this is so fucking creepy, but perfect and the way that you tie in their powers is so subtle.

Suho just likes playing in the water anon, i have no clue what you're getting at ;P
