jongin opens it. he's surprised. angry. "what the fuck are you doing here?" he asks and chanyeol scratches his head, looks away. "look, jongin, i know i fucked up--" "really now?" "yes, ok," he says, and sighs, "look, jongin, there were reasons for that fiancée business and they're just that... business. remember my family's company? it was a business deal." jongin doesn't look like he really buys it, or, even if he does, like that makes up for anything, "anyway, point is, it's off. the business part of the deal fell through, it was no longer necessary to marry the girl, i wheedled my way out of doing it to 'save' the company relationship, and everything's over. i'm single." "ok," jongin says slowly. his face his blank. chanyeol sighs again, thankful that at least he hadn't slammed the door in his face. "do you want to... try again?" he asks, and the tension seems to fall out of jongin's body. he doesn't look happy, or even very relieved, just tired, not angry any more. "could you give me some time to think about it?" jongin asks, and chanyeol nods, because he knows that that's the best he can hope for right now.
