all of this reminds me of my previous fandom where people were fed up with the mods of the big comm so in the end they created a whole new comm with all the improvements. it kind of flopped since it didn't get as popular but it had its fair share of members
one of the issues were that people didn't want to stop posting on the bigger comm anyway because they had a lot of users = more visibility for their fics
