exactly! the image of america is very much white and i'm very much not, and anons using being american as an insult is so wrong to me because i see so many people who don't fit the stereotype at all--who don't deserve that kind of hatred or to be denied as truly american.

why would you want to erase a part of someone's identity just because you hate where they live? i understand america has a shit reputation but goddamn there are still good enough people here who don't share those beliefs and lumping them in with the people they hate is so insulting and infuriating

even with the heritage if they've never lived or were born in my country i don't consider them to be from my nationality but american instead, that's what i meant
