Re: wc!au: team dage [c] - matter of practice, not words

Luhan finishes at around midnight, bone-tired but happy for at least managing to nail that last high note with as much power as he can muster on 3 hours of sleep. He wants to crawl his way to an empty practice room or pass out in the hallways to save time for tomorrow’s practice. It’s not a real option though so he picks up his beanie, zips up his jacket, and tries not to look like he’s about to keel over and trudges his way down to the lobby.

Minseok is there, eyes glued on his phone.

“Hey.”

Minseok’s supposed to be done hours ago as far as Luhan knows, should’ve already been back at the dorms and catching up on sleep at around this time. Minseok only looks up at him though, eyes wide and alert, and Luhan envies his energy at this time of the day.

“Hey yourself. Done for today?”

“Yeah.” Luhan watches in a kind of zombie-blankness the way Minseok tucks his phone inside his coat pocket, slings his bag across his shoulders, like he’s just been waiting for Luhan all evening in the lobby before leaving the building. And that’s not practical. Minseok’s always been the practical one between the two of them.

Minseok stares at him and maybe Luhan missed a question or something but Minseok repeats it again for his benefit.

“Yes, yes, I got everything. What’s gotten into you?”

Minseok shrugs, smiling. Luhan’s so tired he doesn’t even notice that his bag is no longer in his hand and more like in Minseok’s hand. He thinks he teleported it there.

“Telekinesis. Teleportation is Jongin’s. Come on, you’re tired. Let’s go get something to drink.” Minseok says.

“Yeah, yeah.”

No sasaeng gets in their way. Minseok’s holding onto his arm like he’s anticipating that he’ll be toppling over any second now, the wind is just a bite too cold that makes feel alive and carefree, and all at once they are an invincible pair, him and Minseok.

i really enjoyed your depiction of xiuhan's friendship, subtle on the surface but the underlying connection strong
