Minseok slides the mug in front of him, the warm steam still rising into the air and into Jongdae's face. It smells delicious and rich, and Jongdae's hands wrap around the ceramic before he even comprehends what he's doing.

"For me?"

Despite the question, he wastes no time in pulling the drink towards himself. Lowering his head and taking the tiniest of sips, just enough to give himself a foam mustache. It's obviously not as good as the professional stuff they get whenever they go out on coffeeshop visits during their free time, but it's the best in the dorms and Jongdae can't complain. Can never really complain actually, because Minseok makes it just right for him.

"Yes, Jongdae. I brewed myself two cups," Minseok chuckles into his own mug, "heaven knows I need it to deal with all of you kids."

Minseok drinks more delicately than Jongdae does, mature as his age would suggest and somewhat refined in spite of his childish face. There's never a trace of foam on his upper lip, though that doesn't keep Jongdae from peering up from underneath his eyelashes and hoping to catch sight of it one day. Hoping to have the opportunity to reach over and wipe it away -- with his thumb or his lips, he doesn't really know which he'd prefer.

"We're not that bad," Jongdae whines, just as Chanyeol comes thundering through the front door of the M dorm. They both wince at the racket, but when they see Yixing leave his bedroom to go handle the situation, the grimaces melt into small, shared smiles.

"You were saying?" Minseok asks as they listen to Chanyeol babble loudly about a new composition he's come up with, as they hear Yixing offer to listen to whatever he has recorded on his phone. It's too early in the morning for anything other than their cups of coffee, but the warmth of the liquid spreads throughout their bodies and Jongdae knows Minseok is just as unlikely as him to get up from the comfortable little bubble they've made for themselves at the kitchen counter.

Sipping at his coffee again, Jongdae resists the urge to pout. "Park Chanyeol is an outlier and should not be counted," he insists.

"Excuse you," Chanyeol interrupts, stopping Yixing from dragging him into his room, "I always count." Yixing doesn't even seem to be trying to pull him away anymore, although he does shoot Jongdae a sleepy-eyed, apologetic glance.

Minseok laughs softly, getting up from his chair and abandoning his mug and Jongdae. "Alright, alright, Chanyeol-ah. How about you sit and have some coffee with us so Yixing can actually wake up before you have him look over your song?"

Chanyeol strokes his chin, as if mulling it over, before planting himself in Minseok's chair and dragging Yixing down with him. "Okay. Hyung knows best, after all."

Jongdae sees Minseok's tiny smile as he turns away and walks back to the coffee-maker, how carefully he handles the new pair of mugs.

He can't say he disagrees.

Jongin's sitting with Zitao at the party when Baekhyun walks into the room, and it's as if Zitao's gotten stop-motion whiplash, given how fast his neck moves to turn his head towards him. On a normal day, Baekhyun tends to be a time-sink for attention, to be sure, but there's something about the way Zitao's looking at him that sets Jongin on edge. He knows, because he's looked at Zitao for long enough that he recognizes the little ways that his face changes. He hasn't seen this one on his face before, and it isn't until later, when Jongin's refilling his red plastic cup at the punch bowl, that it hits him like a punch to the gut. Zitao was looking at Baekhyun like Jongin looks at Zitao.

Lu Han comes in with Yixing even more fashionably late, and the first thing Lu Han does is sidle up to Jongin and squeeze his side. That's the only reason Jongin's able to watch how Baekhyun picks his way through the crowd toward Lu Han, a puppy dog look on his face.

Ignorance is bliss, Jongin thinks a little desperately. But this is college, and he guesses everyone's a little bit in lust (in love?) with each other. It's not anyone's fault, really, and trying to make each other jealous by fucking each other's love interests wouldn't do anyone any good. Still, when Lu Han turns his face toward Jongin again, he makes an attempt to smile and welcomes the way Lu Han chats him up, if only to see the look on Baekhyun's face fall.

“Hey dipshit,” Jongdae calls from the foyer, leaning over the railing as Chanyeol walks by.

“Right back at you, uhhh,” Chanyeol pauses, thinking of words that Baekhyun would say to describe Jongdae, combined with a little bit of Kyungsoo’s eloquence. Unfortunately, the words that come out of his mouth probably don’t reflect either of them.

“Kitten tits?” Jongdae repeats slowly and Chanyeol can’t tell if he’s more offended or flattered at this point. “I called you dipshit and the best you’ve got is ‘kitten tits’?”

“What the fuck man?” Jongdae laughs, snickering horribly like some easily amused grade school kid.

“Hey it’s better than Lu Han ge’s comebacks,” Chanyeol huffs, feeling defensive. As if summoned, Lu Han pokes his head out of the reading room and looks expectantly. Upon seeing that it was just Chanyeol and Jongdae having some strange war of words with questionable endearments, he scowls.

“What you assholes?” he growls and Chanyeol lets the matter drop entirely.

“I’m going to kill you,” Kyungsoo says softly and it almost feels like a confession of some sorts: First off because he’s been holding it in since maybe October of last year and secondly because Baekhyun is currently beneath him, turning beet red.

On second thought, Baekhyun’s current redness probably has something to do with the lack of air supply to the rest of his body rather than any sort of flushed embarrassment he might feel from Kyungsoo’s words. He lessens his grip, listening in satisfaction as Baekhyun gasps for air like a dying fish.

“Kyungsoo-yah,” Baekhyun whines, immediately after he’s drawn his first breath, “I didn’t mean to find your porn-“

Kyungsoo cuts him off with another squeeze of his hands, wrapping his fingers back around Baekhyun’s stupid neck. Baekhyun twists against him and even against his deadly rage, Baekhyun has the audacity to grind up against him. Kyungsoo pushes him back down and does his damn best to not sit down on Baekhyun’s already hard dick.

“I’m actually going to kill you,” he repeats and the saddest part is, that probably turns Baekhyun on too.

3.
Baekhyun is bad at sneaking out and even worse at confronting the truth when the truth pulls up outside their dorm a quarter after two in a sleek sexy car. Joonmyun knows where he’s going, but apparently his approval isn’t enough for Chanyeol who stands in front of the door, eyes downcast.

Baekhyun’s throat feels dry, unbearably slow as Chanyeol sees him approach.
“Is she already outside?” Chanyeol asks softly and Baekhyun does his best to avert his gaze. He doesn’t know if Chanyeol is angry, jealous or even worse, disappointed. It doesn’t show in his voice and all Baekhyun can do is nod numbly. There’s silence for a little bit, punctuated by the bright lights of the car outside the window.

“Here,” Chanyeol says when he realizes that Baekhyun isn’t going back to bed and that there’s nothing he hasn’t tried yet that’ll stop Baekhyun from being in love and doing stupid things.

He pushes a coat in Baekhyun’s arms like Baekhyun has any right to take it.
“Stay warm,” he says and after a little pause, “Keep her warm too.”

2.
Filming for roommate takes place either eerily early in the morning or soul-wrenchingly late into the night. On an unfortunate day for Chanyeol he has to be present for both.

It’s pouring outside like flash flood kind of pouring and Chanyeol wonders vaguely if he’ll have to swim to the set in case things get really bad. The crackle of thunder outside makes him wince and it apparently wakes Kyungsoo up too.

“Hey, umm,” Kyungsoo says suddenly, head lifting up from his pillow. Chanyeol pauses slowly, shoe half-untied as his roommate gets up blearily to dig something out of the closet. He tosses it to Chanyeol who half drops it in the dark.

“Take an umbrella or something,” Kyungsoo yawns, covering his embarrassment with a loud and obvious cough. “Also don’t drown.”

“Thanks,” Chanyeol says back, unexpectedly touched, but Kyungsoo is already fast asleep again.
