Chanyeol has never been a morning person. She wakes up in the morning, eyes still half closed, hair a tangled mess, and usually wants to fall right back asleep. Some mornings she does. Some mornings, some very rare mornings, she finds a reason to want to wake up early.

These mornings are usually the ones after she's spent the night at her girlfriend's apartment. She wakes up early, cracks her eyes open, and sees a mess of black hair. It's thick and a little frizzy and some of it gets into Chanyeol's mouth. She takes a hand and runs it through the hair, moves it to the side so she can see her girlfriend's face.

And this is why she doesn't want to fall back asleep. Because these rare moments where Kyungsoo is asleep while Chanyeol is awake, Chanyeol likes to admire. Likes to trace her thumb along Kyungsoo's cheekbone, across her lips. Likes to watch the way her eyelashes fan out so prettily across the tops of her cheeks. She loves Kyungsoo when she wakes, loves her when she's feisty and angry and too annoyed to deal with Chanyeol's everything.

But Chanyeol loves her like this too, so peaceful. She knows when Kyungsoo wakes up she's probably going to have a crease between her eyebrows, a scowl on her face, already worried about the day ahead. Chanyeol likes to cherish these moments.

She wraps her arms around Kyungsoo's shoulders, pulls her close into her chest, and places a kiss on the top of Kyungsoo's head.

Kyungsoo grunts, her eyes fluttering, and she shifts a little, but doesn't pull away. She snuggles closer, places her cold hand up under Chanyeol's shirt so Chanyeol shivers.

"You're warm," Kyungsoo mumbles.

Chanyeol does feel very, very warm.
