anon who was looking to get therapist/client confidentiality cleared up, in the united states a therapist can break confidentiality if their client discloses their intention of violence towards another person(s). it's called "duty to warn" or something like that. and even if they don't make any specific threats, if they have a case history of violence the therapist still can and should break confidentiality to warn.
