da some people use work as a distraction and coping mechanism. like when i was grieving deaths of family members i tried to get back to work asap so i wasn’t alone and bored with my thoughts

da same, when my dad died i called into school to say i wasn't gonna come in at all, i ended up just going and buried myself in school for the remaining weeks. it really helped me get through it since i was alone in a foreign country and couldn't go home for the funeral. ironically that semester was my highest i scored throughout my degree
