as far as i understood it from my friend, they said it was circulating on the fandom side from antis but id stans were being really loud about it. opgers have an anti cafe that manipulate and try to ruin their image frequently

yes, it was manipulated. the op posted the full clip. an anti cherry-picked one sentence from it that was incriminating without full context, posted it on a random account, and a popular k-army "found" and spread it even further. k-fans of other fandoms were upset because of this one line, not having heard the full audio. there were even exol confused/hurt because of it. there were a handful of k-fans (mostly army and shawol) who started to trend for baekhyun to apologize on twitter, but there was no outrage yet. it was just antis trying to make it happen then, that i-army translated it, and it blew up for us i-fans too. it was at this time that articles began to be written about it, from allkpop for i-fans but also naver for k-fans. it wasn't until it blew up in i-fandom that it caused a huge ruckus and it spread further. you can see this for yourself if you check the dates on articles that were translated

this happened just in 2-3 days and somehow people are already forgetting and editing the past few hours lol even on meme you can see the timeline. there was the debacle with the i-army translator and a few hours/threads later anons stating that articles started to get written about it

honestly the iarmy had like 50 followers and 100 rts on the trans. if aeries on twitter just ignored her but nope

that wouldn't have done anything. that fandom trends any negativity regarding exo in the thousands. there's no way it would've flown under the radar

by the time i saw it they already had 1k lol the thing is ifandom for the most part can't korean and can't verify things for themselves so they always have to rely on translators. eris on twitter wanted clarification on whether it was true or not so they asked our fandom translators about it. from then on it spread really fast

but even if eris ignored it other fandoms saw the malicious translation and were hating on bbh too which would lead to our translators having to give feedback on the issue anyway

she wasnt the only one trying to ruin his image, even kfans were circulating a big list of accounts to report and her name was on it too
