the idea that all asians are racist comes from the media and is directed towards black people. the idea that all black people are "thugs" and criminals from the media and is directed at non-black people.

in the 1990s, this because especially prevalent during the los angeles riots, where it was deemed as a "race war" between koreans and black americans

who was turning this in to a conflict between koreans and black americans? the media. they were even saying "all of these things are happening in koreatown, why do black people not like koreans?" and giving people the actual locations of what places (korean owned) that were being robbed and raided and telling them where to go

if you don't think that the media is literally putting races against each other (in particular asians and black americans) in order to turn a blind eye towards the injustices of white america then oh boy

and it's not some new shit either. it goes back to the early days of post-slavery america, and they even pulled that shit during the civil rights movement (that was around the time the model minority came to play, by the new york times, and was literally a "look at these perfect asians, they're doing good, why can't you")
