also on a side note i feel like humility might also get in the way of his performing sometimes? like he seems so preoccupied with doing all the technically "right" things for the audience, which in his mind is hitting all his steps and executing the choreography as he learned it, but it also takes a bit of something extra, something slightly selfish and narcissistic, to make a compelling performer and not treating every chance at being on stage as a gift that you're unworthy of. not saying you can't be a great performer and a humble person but it's hard to balance both if your philosophy is so strongly rooted in the latter.

cries at ray ge being the best at nothing ;; but yeah i think he might be conflating age hierarchy with one of respect. also im pretty sure hes called suho hyung before and suho told him to stop calling him hyung or am i imagining that? yixing hyunggggg i feel like every time we've seen him it's been as a dongsaeng or as a baby. except maybe that something different episode where they talked about how he was music club vp. lol at sehun. sehun just likes taking advantage of his hyungs and being cute

ughhhhhh and yes. it's always so interesting watching him dance next to kai, or even minseok. those two are really self assured and confident in themselves in a way yixing isn't - like he's confident in getting things on point and getting the steps right but when it comes to his own skill ;;;

i'm not sure about that sulay moment you're talking about or that interview where they talked about him being vp /o\ i'm a bad stan ig

yixing seems kind of treats idoldom as a paint-by-numbers exercise sometimes. like on one hand, he did all that was required of him in order to debut but i think he needs to realize that post-debut idol is completely different from pre-debut trainee and just being respected for working hard and being polite and waving to fans isn't the end all be all for idols. i hope he learns to be a little more creative(?) in his public life and hope he doesn't strain himself too hard to stay inside his self-created box in the meantime

ohhh paint by numbers is a good way to put it. i think he does know that he needs to do more though? once he said that he wants fans to remember the him on stage that's happy and cheerful. the other thing is compared to how he was at debut he's really come out of his shell? baby steps ;; on the other hand it's really hard to say since all we've had is a few eps of showtime and he hasn't been doing that badly? i mean even on meme he's been gaining fans for being cute and he does recognise the importance of being on the camera unlike lu who has perpetual camera/stage fright
